Note to mods: Not sure if this belongs here, move it to wherever the howtos section is, I didn't find one (kinda new to this forum, sorry)

Main Site is at http://lubi.sourceforge.net/unetbootin.html

First, if you haven't yet prepared/shrunk your partitions, download the appropriate Partition Manager package at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... _id=240127 for your OS (exe for Windows, deb for Ubuntu/Debian, rpm for Fedora/Suse, sh for other Linux distros), install the package, reboot, and start GParted. More detailed instructions are available at http://www.howtoforge.com/unetbootin_wi ... _fedora_p4

Then, unless you plan on doing an NFS install, recursively download (wget -r or a similar approach) the contents of the following directory, or its equivalent on your slackware mirror:
ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware/s ... /slackware
To a directory on your hard drive, like C:\slackware. Make sure the directory you download to isn't on the same partition that ou plan to use for slackware.

Then, download the appropriate UNetbootin Slackware installer for your OS at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... p_id=19882 and reboot, then select the "UNetbootin" option to start the Slackware installer.

First, login as "root"
If you're using NFS or some other network-based install, then, when the prompt shows up, type in "network" and press enter at the next prompt to set up networking.
Then, create your new partitions using "cfdisk" or "fdisk" unless you've already done so in GParted, in which case you can skip this step.
Then, type in "setup" to begin the actual installation process.
When you get to "source", select the "Install from hard drive partition" option, enter the hard drive it's on, then type in /slackware when asked for the directory.
Then, select your packages and proceed with the standard install approach.

Also, UNetbootin supports installing a variety of other distros as well, such as Fedora, Ubuntu, openSUSE, Mandriva, Arch Linux, and Debian; instructions for those are at http://lubi.sourceforge.net/unetbootin.html

I've done this very same thing, however once I finish the install and reboot, I am presented with a black screen and a cursor indicator with no text, can't type, or anything. I think it's either because I didn't install lilo, or maybe it needs a boot stick, I'm not sure. It's obviously writing to the harddrive, I can watch that from the console using df command. I just don't know what to do to get the OS to boot up without my USB stick inserted. (I am very very new, BTW.)

My process - MainPC, (XP SP3) get unetbootin, copy 12.2 ISO to USB stick

put USB stick into bricked laptop, boot it up, set keyboard map, enter root, create the partitions ( I learned fdisk first, but cfdisk works well, too), I add the swap file, add the target file, I add the ability to see DOS partitions, which gives me the ability now to mount my USB drive

/# mkdir usbtest
mount /dev/sdb1 /usbtest

go back to the installation and input that information for the source file from HD partition, select all apps, and commence install.

It installs for a good 15 minutes or so, everything looks great, then reboot and nada.

I didn't install lilo
didn't make USB boot stick.

It is more probable that the sword was forged by wow powerleveling someone in the Legion, and Kil'jaeden included it in the prison for reasons unknown. If this were the case, however, then it is very odd that they would give wow powerleveling the means by which to escape. People claimed that the Lich King forged the sword; this is unlikely, as wow powerleveling probably did not possess the power to craft items from within the Frozen Throne. WoW US PowerLeveling may have just been trying to avoid having to wow powerleveling talk about the Burning Legion in front of Arthas.
